God's Love

When people go through difficult times and hardships they will either turn to God or blame him for their situation.  I did both.  There were times, many times that I lashed out at God in my anger and frustration.  A friend of mine once told me that God has big shoulders, He can take it.  Thankfully, she was right.

I wrote The Importance of Thomas and the dozen or so other stories about him as a way to communicate with my granddaughters.  But these stories served a much greater purpose in my life, much the same as the crayon art.  Through these creative outlets I could connect with God and I could feel God's presence.  He had not deserted us.  Because in the end He gave us the opportunity to face the pain of the past, make peace with it and to say goodbye to our mother with love and gratitude.

The Importance of Thomas has now been published and can be purchase either in hard cover or as an eBook.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THOMAS

“Thomas was a cat.  He was an ordinary cat that showed up at a not-so-ordinary time.”

So begins the story of a family dealing with the care of a parent with Alzheimer’s.
